This free 6-month program introduces middle school students (grades 6–8) to the world of robotics through hands-on engineering lessons and projects. Meeting once a week from September 15th to mid-February, students will learn the fundamentals of mechanical design, CAD, electrical systems, and programming while designing, building, and programming their own unique robot. No prior robotics experience is required, the course is designed for students of all skill levels who are interested in exploring engineering! Throughout the course, students will use the engineering design process and develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence while working alongside mentors from Mountain View High School’s Spartan Robotics Team 971.

Our mission.

Our goal is to expand access to robotics and engineering education by creating opportunities for students who may not have had a chance to explore STEM before. Through a free, hands-on program led by our very own student mentors, we hope to inspire students to explore STEM and discover their passion for engineering. By introducing students to robotics at an early age, we aim to create a lasting impact in our community and encourage the next generation of innovators, problem-solvers, and engineers.
